2Day FM rebrands as 2Gay FM for Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

2Gay FMSouthern Cross Austereo’s Sydney station 2Day FM will rebrand as 2Gay FM for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival as it is the official broadcast partner.

The announcement:

2DayFM have been announced as the official commercial radio broadcast partner for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in an exclusive two-year deal.

The station will transform its logo from 2DayFM to 2GayFM for part of the Mardi Gras festivals in both 2014 and 2015. It will also broadcast dedicated Mardi Gras content throughout the events and specialised playlists on www.Songl.com.

Across the partnership, 2DayFM will be offering listeners exclusive access to the hottest events the Mardi Gras festival has on offer, including tickets to this year’s Flinders Seats at the 36th annual Parade and the highly sought after Mardi Gras Party.

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which will bring a kaleidoscope of colour to Sydney from 7 February – 2 March with outrageous floats, lavish costumes and stunning designs, is dubbed one of the world’s most spectacular celebrations of love, acceptance and diversity.

2DayFM Content Director Donna Puechmarin said: “2DayFM is delighted to have exclusive access to one of the world’s most iconic events. 2DayFM has always been at the forefront of Sydney’s biggest events and the Mardi Gras festival is without doubt a highlight in the Sydney calendar.”

2DayFM and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras exclusive partnership will kick off this Sunday 9th, where 2DayFM breakfast host Sophie Monk will take part in Fair Day celebrations at Victoria Park.
