2GB program director David Kidd departs
2GB program director and groups promotion director at Macquarie Radio Network David Kidd has been made redundant.
A PR representative for the station confirmed the departure however was unable to reveal the circumstances or where Kidd was headed.
It is thought that the move may be a clearing of the decks ahead of the potential merger between Macquarie Radio and Fairfax Radio.
Kidd has been in the role since March 2012, previously working as assistant group program director.
He has also worked with DMG Radio as program director/group research director and Australian Radio Network as asst group program director/group research director.

Say again? A potential merger between the top-rating station and the bottom-rating station (or near enough as dammit) and they shaft the program director at the top rating? Doesn’t quite pass the “ring of truth” test, does it?

I would suspect that with the likes of Jones and Hadley on the roster, there’s not a lot of actual “direction” going on at 2GB.

Cant see Fairfax Radio merging with Macquarie, there is nothng to merge from the former, except the Stationery Cupboard, Tea Cups and a few tea towels, plus the photo’s from past glory days 30 years ago.
