News Corp names Mark Simpson as deputy general manager of sales for Queensland

 

News Corp has appointed Mark Simpson as the deputy general manager of sales for Queensland.

The announcement:

News Corp Australia’s general manager of sales – metro at The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail Kris Yule today announced the appointment of Mark Simpson, deputy general manager – sales.

In this role, Mr Simpson has operational responsibility for overseeing the agency sales team and integrating new business units, such as the digital and commercial partnerships teams and News Corp Studios, to ensure an ongoing focus on innovation and client needs.

Mr Yule said: “Innovation is a core focus of our business, enabling us to consistently offer our customers integrated, first-to-market advertising solutions. Mark has an innovative approach and a passion for leading and developing talent in the business.

“I anticipate exciting developments with Mark overseeing our agency and commercial partnerships sales teams and digital product innovations including our new content and video offering, News Corp Studios.”

Mr Simpson has worked at News Corp Australia since 2003 and has held varied sales roles within the Victorian sales team on publications such as the Herald Sun, Leader Community Newspapers and The Geelong Advertiser.

Mr Simpson said: “I am excited about the opportunity to move into the Queensland Metro sales team. I look forward to applying my experience, and challenging how we work with our customers to develop new solutions that deliver growth for their business.”

Mr Simpson will report to Mr Yule with his role effective immediately.
