A severe cock-up

Fair to say that the SMH is keeping its options open on tonight’s weather…

  2. Is it just me, or has mumbrella become a bit pernickety of late? Whingeing about AdNews, shitcanning BoM. Surely there are better media related stories than this?

Get your mojo back, mum, this trivial stuff is boring and demeaning, and not for the people you’re attacking.

  4. Bemused…if you want the big important news stories, maybe stick to the “News” section of Mumbrella and let Dr Mumbo throw up his sometimes funny, sometimes interesting observations.

That’s like reading the Comics in a newspaper and whinging about politics

  10. I think it’s ok to point out that a major newsletter is running storms as one of it’s top stories and it’s wrong.

It’s such a boring story – a storm? Over hyped just to get traffic .

SMH front page seems to be run by traffic managers (hence the obsession with tech stories and hype) rather than an editor.

  12. Follow the hattip, Huh. It’s not Mumbrella’s artwork.

Bemused, You’ve completely missed the point. there are two stories – one saying there’s going to be a severe storm, the other saying there’s not going to be a severe storm.

    Nothing to do with BOM…

  14. Great spot DM!

This highlights how hard it is to run a 24/7 ‘live’ publication. I am sure Fairfax are not too fussed, in fact it keeps them on their toes, which isn’t a bad thing for them…

Agreed; this is a Dr Mumbo comment and is not published under ‘news’ so Bemused and Huh; lighten up guys!

H’mmm is it gonna storm or not..? I might just ask Twitter to see if anything is happening around Sydney and then check the Bom to see if it maps to where I am… If it is a grand storm, I can check YouTube tomorrow to watch some cool vid’s and perhaps check Facebook to see if anyone has posted some photo’s ;)

  16. I would only be worried if it was pushing other content about tv shows tanking in the ratings or some more wisdom from Ben Lilley. That’s what I’m here for.
