Adconion appoints managing director

Sam Smith has been appointed to the the role of managing director for Adconion’s RedLever.   

The announcement:

Adconion, Australia’s largest independent advertising network, today announced the appointment of Sam Smith as Managing Director of branded entertainment organisation RedLever. The role will see Smith take charge of the Australian RedLever operations, encompassing 3 core business units: Branded Entertainment, Creative Services and Content Distribution. Smith will join the Australian Adconion management team.

Prior to joining RedLever, Sam was Commercial Director for content solutions business TCO, proceeding this, Sales Strategy Director of Yahoo!7 where he drove commercialisation of content, trade marketing, creative services and sales strategy. In combining the Seven Media Group’s assets, Smith engineered one of the most successful and impressive go-to-market media packages ever for the 2008 Olympics. Smith previously led the sales team at ninemsn as National Advertising Manager and was instrumental in the global footprint of Buchanan Group’s “Brand Power” platform.

Red Lever will soon release the first slate of this extraordinary Web Series that has been featured on both the Oscars and as a top 5 viewed show on leading web portal HULU – Smith and his team will be attracting partner Sponsors in coming weeks.
