Adelaide radio ratings: Mix 102.3 clings on to market lead despite drop
Like the survey before it for Adelaide, DMG’s 5AA suffered the biggest fall in listeners between Monday to Sunday in latest round of ratings from Nielsen.
The station slipped by 2.2 percentage points – and plunged by 6.3 percentage points at drive time – but holds on to its second spot in the market.
A bigger faller in the weekday segment was Mix 102.3, which dropped from 15.9% to 13.6% share of Monday to Friday listeners.
Its worst performing time slots were between 9am and 4pm, down an ugly 5.3 percentage points between noon and 4pm. But the ARN station remains the market leader.
In the battle for third place, SAFM moved passed ABC891 to claim 11.1% market share.
NOVA91.9 was the biggest faller at breakfast, down 2.5 percentage points to 6.7% share.
Depressingly for advertisers, the survey’s clear winner was ABC’s Triple J, which grew its audience from 5.6% to 8.3% – spiking at drive time with a jump of 4.3 percentage points.
Can we please get this right?
These share % results are a share of listenING, not listenERS.
The Cumulative audience numbers (cume) measure numbers of listeners. How long they listen and to which stations at what time deliver the share % of listening results.

I was once (a long time ago) a loyal 5DN listener – then 5AA, but for 2 years now it has been Internet Radio all the way for me. In fact, Sydney’s 2GB is my preferred radio station even though I live in Adelaide. It delivers the current issues fast and talks to those that matter – none of the comedic rubbish that 5AA tends to offer these days… Sadly!
