SAFM's axed breakfast team: ratings up

ARN’s Mix102.3 recorded the biggest jump in the Nielsen radio ratings for Adelaide, while the axed breakfast team of Southern Cross Austereo brand SAFM also saw an increase in listening.

Mix102.3’s audience share grew from 12.2% to 14.2% in the Monday to Sunday ratings, gaining ground on market leader FIVEaa, which grew less quickly – up from 14.9% to 15.4% share.

Mix102.3 went best in the 7pm to midnight evening slot, up by 2.8 percentage points. But its breakfast offering with Jodie, Mark and Snowy also grew, up to 13.2% share and closing on ABC891’s second place.

The ABC took the biggest hit overall, with ABC891 down 1.6 percentage points to 10.4% share.

SAFM, which axed Craig Annis and Dave ‘Rabbit’ Rabbetts from its breakfast team yesterday, performed well, posting the second-biggest increase in the Adelaide survey.

Its breakfast ratings were up from 8.8% to 10.3% share, while the station grew by 1.7 percentage points overall, to 11.1% share.

SAFM is now within a whisker of third place behind Nova91.9, which fell from 11.8% to 11.4% in the weekday ratings.

The survey period ran from Sunday 6 May to Saturday 9 June, and Sunday 24 Jun to Saturday 28 July 28 this year.
