Air crash imagination
You’ve got to hand it to the graphics people at Ten. They’re certainly can capture a dramatic moment.
Check out the image of the plane behind Sandra Sully as she introduces the story of a “possible disaster” at Sydney airport.
The left wingtip of the plane is practically touching the ground. If you look closely, you can even see the shadow the stricken airliner is casting on the runway.
Even better, they’ve got footage of the horrific moment, introduced by John ‘six points’ Hill.
Dr Mumbo wouldn’t want to suggest for one moment that the good folk of Ten Eyewitness News are faking their images. But he struggles to understand how the graphic in any way resembles what actually happened on the footage of the Jetstar plane’s go-around:
Ho hum. Any frequent flyer knows a go-around is a very standard procedure. Massive beat up by Ten.

Wow, Ten really are everywhere ‘witnessing’ the news as it happens.

Agreed. This is a terrible photoshop.
Still… it made me click on your article…. Social Media / Traditional Media optimisation?

Completely off topic but i’m overseas right now and noticed channel ten has blocked overseas viewing of content they upload to YouTube. Why are corporates so dumb

I have noted with some irritation over the years, the business of drama production shifting from the entertainment departments to the news and current affairs departments.
Not only non events like a routine aircraft “go around” reshaped as a near disaster, but people who have just lost their homes to fire or flood, or a loved one to some actual disaster, natural or orchestrated, are asked by an off camera voice “How do you feel at this moment?” and the camera zooms in to an extreme close up of the eyes to catch the tears. Not good news reporting.

“THE WORST DAY TO LAND IN 40 YEARS!” Says the man with a camera…

How about Melbourne Airport two weeks ago, 3 of 13 arrivals had successful 1st attempt landings. The rest did 2 or 3 go-arounds. Good one Channel 10….go report on something a little more worthwhile and stop pumping fear into the public about aviation. It’s bad enough already.
