Air New Zealand stages pop-up restaurant flight give-away stunt
PR agency Hill & Knowlton has held a stunt in Melbourne for clients Air New Zealand and Positively Wellington Tourism that saw diners at a pop-up restaurant given free tickets to Wellington by the airline’s flight crew.
According to the agency, the video has been viewed more than 19,000 times since being uploaded early yesterday morning.
Hill & Knowlton partnered with creative agency Host to execute the stunt.
Great idea and nicely executed. Wish I’d been one of those diners!

I don’t understand why they did it?

As usual, the best bit about this is that they used actual cabin crew (as they have in all their advertising etc for some time), not promo girls

I love what Air NZ do – they feel like the only airline not sucking up to our ‘yearning for someone somewhere’ selves but this seemed a little flat. Its not me who’s saying…just look at the guests faces pre freebe.

Interesting concept. It’s funny watching the reactions of the patrons. It looked like they thought it was pretty stupid and annoying…. until they were given free tix, then it’s the best concept ever!

Polite boredom and silent annoyance from patrons, but at least they gave away something worthwhile, a small lesson for there for Qantas.
