Aldi continue with ‘Like Brands. Only Cheaper’ campaign with cockroaches and a neanderthal

Supermarket chain Aldi has unveiled the 11th and 12th spots in its “Like Brands. Only Cheaper” campaign, with the new spots promoting bug spray and foil wrap.

The bug spray spot sees a cockroach father talking about how the spray keeps the boys away from his embarrassed daughters, while the foil wrap ad features a neanderthal cooking a mammoth roast on the fire.

BMF executive creative director Cam Blackley said: “We are really excited about this new set of Like Brands commercials. The brief was to stay surprising and I think the range of techniques utilised to bring each idea to life, nailed that.”

An Aldi spokesperson said: “This latest set of ten ads really emphasises to shoppers that at Aldi you truly can get quality products at low prices throughout the store, it’s not just a select few. The work achieves this in an interesting, yet memorable way.”

The campaign launched last June with an ad featuring a talking bear to sell toilet paper.

The campaign is running on TV and supported by online, social and catalogue.
