May 23, 2011 –

Australia Post has appointed Australia’s leading full-service digital agency, Amnesia Razorfish to be its digital agency as the 202 year-old organisation embraces the digital age across its products and services.

Australia Post called a competitive pitch across digital, creative and direct marketing, as it evolves from a state-based structure to a centralised approach to marketing as part of its ‘Future Ready’ strategy.

When Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour joined Australia Post in 2009, he said that the biggest challenge was to enable Australia Post to do everything it does in the physical world in the digital world.

Australia Post Marketing Director John Moore said that Amnesia Razorfish was selected because of its strong strategic expertise.

“Amnesia Razorfish presented a clear strategic direction for Australia Post. We were very impressed by the calibre of the team,” Moore said.

Amnesia Razorfish Managing Director Michael Buckley said that Australia Post was an important win for the agency.

“This is not just an advertising assignment, it’s about moving the entire business into the digital age. Given this, Australia Post is one of the most significant digital accounts in the country and we are really excited to be working with such an iconic brand,” Buckley said.

Amnesia Razorfish Executive Director – Client Services Doug Chapman said that the Australia Post business would be largely managed out of the agency’s Melbourne office and a significant recruitment drive was already underway.

“We are at the forefront of moving Australia Post to a fully-fledged digital business. With a massive win like this, there are now new roles to fill, so a recruitment drive will take place in Melbourne and also Sydney,” Chapman said.

The appointment became effective on May 1st.
