Amnesia Razorfish appoints “skirt for hire” to social media role

Amnesia Razorfish has hired Karalee Evans as its social media manager, after attracting attention by marketing herself as a “skirt for hire” on Twitter, creating a blog and posting an anonymous job ad on Mumbrella around the pseudonym.

Prior to joining Amnesia Razorfish, Evans was communications and partnerships manager at Headspace, the government-funded initiative that provides young people with mental and health well being support.

She began her career with PR consultancy Media Key and has also previously worked at Fenton Communications, the Victorian Department of Infrastructure and Australian Air Express in corporate affairs.

Following Evan’s job post on Mumbrella a subsequent article written about her possible identity is currently the third most discussed story on the Mumbrella website, with 65 comments at the time of posting.

Her skirt for hire Twitter profile has 99 followers.

  60. Anyone getting a job is good news I suppose, but advertising yourself as a ‘skirt for hire’ seems a bit redundant in this industry, given the high proportion of female practitioners (not that there’s anything wrong with that…).

    I can’t help but feel that if I put myself out there as ‘pants for hire’ I’d be accused of blokey arrogance – or something like that.
