Announcement of X Factor winner Dami Im draws 2.431m

The announcement of Dami Im as winner of The X Factor brought Seven an audience of over 2.4m last night.

OzTam’s preliminary overnight ratings recorded a metro audience of 2.431m for the announcement of the winner at the end of the show – up by over 250,000 from last year.

The ratings result was higher the winner announcement for The Voice, which brought 2.3m metro viewers to Channel Nine.

Meanwhile the two hour X Factor show – featuring live performances from Katy Perry and Guy Sebastian – averaged 2.251m in the lead up to the announcement.


The X Factor was the most watched show of Monday and also in the key advertising demographic of people 25-54. The network had a huge 35.6 per cent share of the free to air audience.

Nine’s best performer of the night was Nine News, with 1.143m, followed by A Current Affair, which averaged 984,000. Big Brother held onto its audience with 856,000 metro viewers and was third in the key advertising demographic of people 25-54.

Ten’s top show was Ten Eyewitness News with 581,000 metro viewers. Homeland averaged 351,000 and A League of Their Own 242,000. Ten’s share was a dismal 7.4 per cent – one if its worst of the year.
