Announcing Mentor Matchmaking: an opportunity for the industry to help charities by sharing their marketing expertise

Agency executives and media professionals who want to donate time and expertise to helping charities are being invited to connect with them at a new event supported by Mumbrella.

MENTOR MATCHMAKING UNLTDMentor Matchmaking, organised in collaboration with industry charity UnLtd, will take place in three weeks’ time.

The free event will see potential mentors from within the industry booking a series of 15 minute appointments with representatives from some of the 43 charities supported by UnLtd.

The aim of the project is to connect those from the industry who want to put their marketing expertise to good use with small charities that can benefit from the help. This could include advising on anything from digital planning, marketing strategies, creative, production, social media activations to amplification, financial planning and business planning.

The charities supported by UnLtd who will be attending the Mentor Matchmaking afternoon include Youth Off The Streets; Primary Ethics, which helps deliver ethics education to school children; Youth mental health charity Batyr; The Bully Project; young people’s charity Whitelion; the Children’s Food Education Foundation; young deaf people mentor group Hear For You; indigenous cultural awareness organisation Desert Pea Media; disability helpline Jeenee Mobile; regional youth disadvantage charity iManifest; dance group Inspired Avenue; Preventative program Reach Foundation; Heart Kids, therapy program KidsXpress; Reach Foundation; Backtrack and Camp Quality.

The Mentor Matchmaking event takes place at media agency UM’s offices in Sydney on the afternoon of Wednesday April 29.

UM is providing the meeting space for free while Mumbrella is donating its networking software and the time of our event management team.

The first Mentor Matchmaking session is a pilot event, with limited numbers, on a first come, first served basis. Those who do not make it onto the list for the first event will get priority to attend future Mentor Matchmaking afternoons if the initial event is a success.
