APN Outdoor locks in five-year contract with Sydney Buses on ‘improved financial terms’

APN Outdoor has secured an additional five-year contract with Sydney Buses, on ‘improved financial terms.’

The outdoor company first secured the contracts in 1987 and in 2013 took over advertising rights in the west, which were previously held by Moove Media.

APN’s contract with Sydney buses has expanded over the past 20 years

APN’s renewed contract will run for an additional five years and cover more than 2,000 buses across more than a dozen city depots.

Richard Herring, CEO APN Outdoor said securing the contract for a further five-year term was a credit to the tender response team.

“We are committed to the continual development of our transit portfolio and the Sydney Buses contract win plays a vital part of our broader strategy for this format,” Herring said.

“As the predominant provider of transit advertising across Australia, there is no doubt that this win is of strategic importance to APN Outdoor and our identity in the advertising market.”

The news comes after APN Outdoor completed its trial of Catch – a free wifi technology system – on Sydney’s buses.
