wrong! wrong! wrong!
“ARN’s Gold has bumped FoxFM from the number one station position in Melbourne”
When will journalists start reporting the numbers correctly? Gold is in THIRD position in Melbourne being beaten by 774 and 3AW.
You could at least amend the copy to say number one FM station position in Melbourne. But even if you do that it still takes away from the success of the much more popular AM stations who compete in the same market.

Hi Peter,
Yes normally we are at pains to make that distinction and the headline did say number one in FM. Unfortunately this was missed in the lead and has now been corrected.
Cheers

Thanks Nic.
The AM stations really do get a bum deal in the reporting and spin of radio ratings. The real story this survey has been 774 beating 3AW for the top spot – but this was only mentioned in the last two paragraphs of the article as an aside.
