Aussie social media firm launches Twitter search tool    Screen Shot 2012 08 17 at 12.50.35 PM 234x93Australian social media monitoring company BuzzNumbers has launched a new Twitter tool which it says will help marketers discover local tweeters based on their influence in specific topics, interests or affiliations.

AussieTwitterSearch is a free tool which BuzzNumbers says is targeted at Australian marketers, community builders, advertising agencies and recruiters.

BuzzNumbers founder Nick Holmes a Court, said tests of the service had been met “with overwhelmingly positive feedback”.

  2. Nice simple tool, though assumes that the tweeter is influential on (all) the things in their bio.

    Example: if you search for Beer, the top tweeter is ex-Australian cricketer Darren Lehman whose profile reads: Very old, bald cricketer that loves watching the game. Enjoys having a beer with the general public and all the beautiful things that Australia has to offer.

    I would hazard a guess that his 25k followers follow him for his views on cricket, not beer

    But I guess it works most of the time, and just needs a bit of common sense user filtering. Nice job. Now to find something i’m influential in….. oh
