Australia Post marketing chief John Moore moves on

John MooreJohn Moore, the head of marketing at Australia Post, has resigned after more than two and half years in the role.

Moore, who was general manager of marketing and customer experience, is leaving to take a job at ‘a global services company’, Mumbrella understands.

A leaked emailed written by Nic Nuske, Australia Post’s general manager of sales and marketing, reads:

Dear Team

Today I am announcing that John Moore, General Manager Marketing and Customer Experience, has decided to leave Australia Post to take up an exciting new opportunity with a global services company.

John has led the Marketing and Customer Experience team since October 2010. During that time he has been instrumental in transforming Marketing from a state to national function, building a well-regarded, highly professional team. Under John’s leadership the team is providing the enterprise with high level strategic advice that is driving the success of our Go To Market strategy.

He has been involved in several of Australia Post’s most successful high profile campaigns and initiatives including ZING, Load&Go and Parcels Standardisation. John has also overseen the development and growth of our digital marketing capability which is helping to deliver both new customers and revenue to Australia Post.

John leaves his team well-positioned to continue to meet the needs of the business and our customers. He will continue to lead the team until he leaves in mid June.

An announcement about John’s replacement will be made in the near future.

I know that you will all join me in wishing him great success in his new role.

Regards

Nic

Over a career in marketing that began at NAB in the nineties, Moore has worked at Scotiabank, CIBC, Vodafone and Suncorp before taking the Australia Post role in October 2010.

Australia Post’s agencies include the newly rebranded Zoo Republic, formerly The Marketing Zoo, and Melbourne agency Marmalade, which was behind the advertiser’s first animated ad that launched last month.

April 5 update: Australia Post states that  also on the roster are Clemenger, Badjar and Amnesia. It says that Zoo Republic is not on the roster.
