Australian Marketing Institute names new board directors

The Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) has named its new board with the directors taking up their positions next month.

The announcement:

The CEO of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI), Lee Tonitto, announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors. The new Directors will take up their positions effective from 23 October.

Lee commented that the election of the new Directors was a first for the AMI: “Our constitution was recently changed so our Board would be determined by direct election by our members.”

Members have enthusiastically embraced this change with 46 candidates nominating for a place on the Board. These candidates represent a variety of industry sectors and marketing activities.

“We are delighted to have such an engaged group of members who are willing to offer their remarkable skills and their time to furthering the AMI,” said Lee.

Lee commented, “I feel confident that the AMI will continue to thrive under the guidance of these six outstanding professionals.”

Kathy Hatzis – Head of Marketing, Consumer Lending, Citibank
Kathy’s deep corporate, consulting and entrepreneurial experience, coupled with a strategic and commercial approach and AICD qualifications, make her well placed to contribute to a renewed, agile, innovative and future-focused board.

Darren Woolley – Managing Director, TrinityP3 Marketing and Management Consultants
Darren brings significant creative, strategic and analytics experience to the board, with an intense focus on increasing efficiency and effectiveness and measuring agency and campaign performance.

Damian Anderson – Managing Director and Chief Digital Officer, Acceleration Group
Damian has a clear picture of how the AMI can enhance the member experience through smarter and more strategic approaches to mentoring, educating and nurturing the talents of Australian marketing professionals.

Mahesh Enjeti – Managing Director, SAI Marketing Counsel
Mahesh has engaged with issues beyond marketing to social responsibility, sustainability, ethics and governance in academia and as a consultant. He has contributed with passion to white papers, the AMI Strategic Plan and the new Board Charter.

Graham Wright – Principal, Graham Wright Consulting
Graham is an experienced senior marketing and communications manager with a background in Government and the private sector with a strong strategic perspective on what is required both at organisational and project level.

Chris Mooney – Managing Director, Marketing Insights
One of Australia’s most experienced industrial marketers, Chris brings a strong commercial focus and a unique set of eyes and insights to the board for the benefit of the broader marketing community.
