Bashful creates ad to showcase Van Heusen’s suit that can take a pounding

Youth focused ad agency Bashful has created an advertising campaign for Van Heusen’s new Performa range of men’s travel suits.

The Surry Hills agency also had a hand in developing the Performa sub brand.

Bashful director Simon Bookallil said: “This was a dream brief – to help define the new product and then launch it. “The process from refining the product, creating a sub brand name, to establishing its core values and then expressing it through a dynamic and multi-faceted campaign was an exhilarating process for Bashful.”

Dianne Taylor, Gazal’s group brand marketing manager added: “Bashful’s slick, contemporary campaign cements our positioning as an aspirational, innovative brand in this category.”

The ad – features Richard Cilli, a principal dancer for the Sydney Dance Company, as the suit takes whatever is thrown at it.

The campaign begins on Friday. It will run on TV, print and online.

  14. great ad, already a fan of the brand and this makes me like it more, it was starting to need a more fresh approach and to appeal to a younger audience and this does the trick

  32. I have to agree with Anonymous. Great ad but if you didn’t tell me this was for a suit in the article, I would have assumed it was just the shirt that was being advertised…

And I know I’m no copywriter but isn’t it crush resist(ant) and stain resist(ant)?
