Being Lara Bingle sheds 300,000 viewers on last week

Being Lara Bingle took a big hit in the ratings last night, down 300,000 viewers on last week, as it struggled to cope with competition from the Olympics.

The reality show about the Australian model last week took 768,000 across the five city metro markets, but last night dropped to 463,000, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.

The result is almost 200,000 down on its previous worst result of 650,000 in mid-July.

In its time slot Being Lara Bingle was third behind the Olympics and Seven’s Once Upon A Time on 807,000, which last week took 855,000, to see a drop of less than 50,000 in the face of the games.

The show placed 20th in total viewers, but jumped in the 16-39 key advertising demographic to 10th. in 18-49 it placed 13th and in 25-54 it was 15th.

Winning the night was the Olympics again. London Live: D4 Early Evening, from 6.50pm – 8.30pm took top honours with 1.79m, followed by London Live: D4 Evening with 1.539m. Nine News was third on 1.362m.

Seven News was the network’s highest-rating show in fourth with 1.136m.

Ten didn’t get a show in the top ten, with MasterChef All Stars the network’s most watched on 771,000 in 11th place.

The top three spots for total viewers were the same as in the 18-49 and 25-54 advertising demos. But in the 16-39 demo Seven’s Home And Away was third, followed by Winners & Losers.
