The McGrath Foundation has appointed Ben Hirschfeld as head of corporate partnerships.

The announcement:

The McGrath Foundation is bolstering its corporate partnership expertise by appointing commercial and sponsorship specialist Ben Hirschfeld to the newly created role of Head of Corporate Partnerships.

In this role Ben will be responsible for enhancing and growing McGrath Foundation partnership strategies while increasing the Foundation’s footprint in new sectors, reporting directly to CEO Petra Buchanan.

“Ben’s appointment is a strategic step in the evolution of the Foundation as we look to diversify our fundraising streams and move into a new phase of growth,” said Buchanan.

“The McGrath Foundation is proud of its long history of working with partners to create innovative campaigns that improve the lives of Australian families living with breast cancer. Ben’s extensive experience will add value to our current corporate partnership portfolio while also driving new partnerships to help us achieve our mission. We are thrilled to welcome him to the senior team,” she added.

Ben joins the McGrath Foundation after establishing Generate Australia, the Australian arm of global sponsorship network Generate Sponsorship, to provide consultancy services to brands on marketing and sponsorship strategy. Prior to this he spent nine years in sponsorship and commercial roles at Football Federation Australia where he was responsible for commercial partnerships across the business, including sponsors, broadcasters and state governments.

“The McGrath Foundation is one of the country’s most reputable charities and has achieved tremendous success in the past decade collaborating with leading Australian brands. I’m looking forward to working with the team to develop our new partnership offering and fostering long-term relationships that deliver real value and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Foundation,” said Hirschfeld.

“From a personal point of view, it’s great to be working for a cause that positively impacts so many Australians and to be ensuring that every family experiencing breast cancer has access to a dedicated breast care nurse.”
