Ben Shipley has departed Hill+Knowlton Strategies and J.Walter Thompson’s joint-venture content marketing agency Colloquial after just eight months.

Shipley has now been appointed managing director of Spectrum Group which is part of marketing and communications group IPMG. The group includes Spectrum Communications Sydney and Singapore, Max Australia and Magnetic Content.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Spectrum Group because we already have strong relationships with some of the best brands in tech,” said Shipley in a statement.

“I’m keen to demonstrate how we can build on existing strengths to deliver integrated communications that have a measurable impact on businesses and their brands.”

Shipley spent more than six years with Hill+Knowlton Strategies first as creative and digital director before being made digital practice lead across the Asia-Pacific region. He then launched content marketing agency Colloquial earlier this year.

In his new role at Spectrum Group he will focus on growing the business and building the group’s commitment to integrated communications.
