The Big Adventure drops again as the ABC beats Seven in Sydney and Melbourne

Seven’s new franchise The Big Adventure continues to struggle producing a metropolitan audience of 643,000 last night at 7.30pm, allowing ABC to beat the pay-TV network for audience share in the two biggest markets of Sydney and Melbourne.

The poor audience share result came in spite of small increases in audiences for The Blacklist at 8.30pm and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD at 9.30pm which had 626,000 viewers and 306,000 viewers respectively

On Nine The Big Bang Theory was the most watched show of the night with a new episode of the comedy in the 7.30pm bringing in 1.123m , while a repeat at 8pm drew 984,000 viewers.

An eviction show on Big Brother at 8.30pm, which saw Lawson depart the house, drew 671,000 viewers, a result down on last week where the show drew 702,000 viewers.

Over on Ten Party Tricks has continued to produce audiences around the 400,000 mark with the political drama pulling 430,000 last night, down on last week’s 467,000 but above the season low of 407,000.

Public broadcaster the ABC performed strongly on Monday night with Australian Story, 7.30, ABC News and Four Corners all in the top 15 shows for the evening.

Australian Story featuring advertising executive Aminah Hart, was their highest rating program with 868,000 viewers.

In the news race, Seven beat Nine by a solid margin pulling 1.023m in the 6pm slot and 945,000 at 6.30pm compared with 929,000 and 930,000 respectively for Nine News.

In audience share on the main channel Nine won the night with 21.1 per cent, Seven had 17.4 per cent, the ABC 16.1 per cent and 10.9 for Ten.
