The Big Adventure hits season low of 597,000 viewers

Seven franchise The Big Adventure continues to struggle with an audience of just 597,000 metropolitan viewers tuning in to watch last night’s episode which saw orange team captain Todd eliminated from the show.

According to Oztam Ratings the result is well down on the debut of the show which drew 945,000 viewers two weeks ago and down on last week’s audience of 664,000 viewers. Last night Seven switched it with Sunday night moving it from the 6.30pm slot to the 7.30pm slot.

The scheduling decision saw The Big Adventure well and truly beaten by 60 Minutes in the 7.30pm slot with the current affairs show pulling 1.174m viewers to be the most watched show of the night.

In the 6.30pm slot it was a closer contest with Sunday Night beating The Embassy with an audience of 887,000 while Nine’s show was down on last week pulling 833,000 viewers.

The second season of US drama Resurrection on Seven continues to struggle with the show pulling 380,000 viewers for the 9pm episode and 314,000 for the 10pm showing. Nine showed two episodes of Gotham in the  8.30pm and 9.30pm timeslots which had 527,000 and 393,000 viewers respectively, down on last week.

However both shows have proven to be storng in time-shifted viewing, both puling in more than 100,000 more viewers across the week.

Ten’s highest rating show of the night was a new episode of Modern Family which drew a solid 718,000 at 7.30pm, while a repeat straight after drew 631,000 viewers. Scorpion at 6.30pm was down fractionally on last week with 561,000 viewers.

Over on the ABC a drama based on James Bond author Ian Fleming at 8.30pm drew 595,000, while the first part of a two part Doctor Who double-episode season finale drew 541,000 at 7.45pm.

In the news stakes Nine News won the metro battle with 1.121m while Seven News had 983,000.

The Four Nations rugby league match between Australia and England which ended in controversy screened at 3.30pm and drew 498,000 viewers across Sydney and Brisbane.

Nine won the night in terms of audience share on its main channel with 20.8 per cent, while Seven got 17.3 per cent and Ten had 12.2 per cent, behind ABC’s 13.3 per cent.
