The Big Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Theory
When audiences are slow, it can’t be much fun being a programming boss.
Happily, Nine has the answer to its 2011 ratings malaise: The Big Bang Theory.
With next week’s schedule amendments now available, it appears that the network plans to air The Big Bang Theory15 times. Which beats, Dr Mumbo thinks, the record for Two And A Half Men which peaked at nine episodes in a week.
There are nine episodes of Big Bang Theory scheduled for Nine and a further six for sister digital channel Go.
Of the 15 episodes, 14 are repeats.
With 23 episodes in a season, that’s two thirds of a season in a single week.
Last night, Nine aired two episodes with the better performer pulling in just 823,000 viewers.
Fifteen tiems times a week, what could possibly go wrong?
This is why FTA TV in this country is, aside from several exceptions, an absolute joke!

This is why i refuse to watch channel 9 anymore.
You never know when the latest shows are playing as they mix it up every week. One night its a repeat the next the new show. Then its repeast for the next 3 weeks. The big Bang, two and a half men, top gear are all examples.
Absolute joke.

When media buyers told Nine they wanted more bang for their buck, I’m pretty sure this isn’t what they had in mind…

No wonder the piratebay is doing so well at the moment

I am sure some Australian TV Production Company could make something just as funny quirky and engaging. Oz has great one-off characters, multiple melting pot of ethnicities and a humour overload.
WHY? the hell are they spending all the money on American stuff?

With the general recurrent theme of how crap Channel 9 are, maybe there’s a program idea there in itself? A locally produced comedy, (‘loosely’ based on Ch9) of how not to run a TV station, kind of like a cross between Larry Sanders/30 Rock/The Games. In any case, I’m sure there would be absolutely no shortage of material!

it would be smart if nine – in repspect for sheldon fans old and new- went as far as creating some kind of code in its programming formula: something like new fans who have not seen all eps watch on this day, those who are happy with random repeats watch on that day…however for those who have been with the show from the begining are rewarded by being advised where to find the unseen ep..then watch the numbers.

Les Wood thinks this is a knee jerk reaction to a complete lack of programming foresight
