Big Brother drops below 900,000

big brother logoNine’s Big Brother had one of its lowest outings for this season last night.

The Thursday show rated 863,000 across total individuals according to preliminary ratings from OzTam in sixth spot while Big Brother Confidential that followed rated 830,000 in seventh spot.

The Thursday show results were down on last Thursday which rated 920,000  and was a fall on the previous week of 976,000. However Big Brother Confidential was up slightly on last week’s 828,000.

The show did better in the three key advertising demographics with Big Brother Confidential winning in the 16-39 and 18-49 demographics and second in 25-54 while the Thursday show was right behind in 16-39 and 18-49 and won in 25-54.

Elsewhere, Today beat Sunrise for the third day this week. The Nine show which is celebrating its 30th anniversary all this week, rated 348,000 over Sunrise on 329,000. Ten’s Breakfast rated 44,000.

In the 8.30pm time slot Seven’s Criminal Minds won with 788,000 just ahead of ABC1’s local drama Rake on 780,000. Nine’s Big Bang Theory double episodes rated 540,000 and 480,000 respectively while Ten’s Thursday Night Football, which includes NRL’s The Game Plan and AFL’s Before The Game rated a combined 459,000.

Nine won the day in channel share by just 1% point.  Nine took 21.4% over Seven’s 21.3%. ABC1 had a 13.4% share while Ten had a 10.4%. SBS1 was eighth with 4.0% behind digital channels GO! on 6.3%, 7TWO on 5.4% and Eleven on 4.5%.
