Big Wednesday for Sunrise in TV ratings

Seven’s morning show Sunrise opened up one its biggest leads of the year on Nine’s Today on Wednesday. Sunrise averaged 424,000 metro viewers to Today’s 314,000 – a margin of 110,000.

According to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam, Sunrise won in all of the five major cities, including the traditional Today heartland of Melbourne.

Meanwhile, in prime time, the third outing of The X Factor rated 1.332m for Seven – better than Monday’s 1.186m but behind Tuesday’s 1.482m.  

The X Factor continues to vary in popularity across states. It was number one for the night in Melbourne but 13th in Brisbane.

The ABC also had a strong night, with Spicks and Specks third for Wednesday with 1.453m viewers and adland show The Gruen Transfer fourth with 1.391m.

Ten’s Undercover Boss pulled in 1.355m, while Nine’s best performing show was down in seventh with The Farmer Wants A Wife rating 1.273m. Despite that, Nine won the night.

  6. #questionable – Surely Mumbrella are merely reporting the viewing figures….this is hardly bias when all they are doing is reporting the facts? This doesnt mean that the other networks aren’t doing anything positive….it just means not as many people are watching them!
