The Block draws 1.319m as auction day approaches

Nine renovation show The Block was once again the highest rating program of the night with 1.319m tuning in ahead of Sunday night’s auction show. 

The program was the only one of the night to draw an audience of more than one million and helped Nine win the night with an audience share on its main channel of 22.1 per cent.

Seven’s The Force drew 988,000 viewers to come in second in the 7.30pm slot while Border Security drew 923,000.

In the 8.30pm slot Criminal Minds drew 779,000 to win the timeslot while Big Brother improved on its performance from last week with an audience of 688,000, up from 658,000.

Ten’s highest rating program of the night was the simulcast of Family Feud which drew 617,000 across Ten, One and Eleven.

Wonderland’s audience was down marginally in the 8.30pm slot with 443,000 viewers, down from 458,000 last week, while The Good Wife pulled 297,000.

Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell was the ABC’s highest rating program of the evening with 623,000 in the 8pm slot.

A confrontational interview between Lateline host Emma Alberici and Wassim Doureihi, a prominent member of Hizb ut-Tahrir drew 137,000 viewers in the 10.30pm slot.

While Nine won the night, Seven was close behind with 20.9 per cent on its main channel in audience share, the ABC had 11.4 per cent and Ten 10.1 per cent.
