Block head driving – a special investigation
Channel Nine’s A Current Affair loves a good ‘I can’t believe that person was driving whilst eating/on their phone/doing their nails/having an out-of-body experience yarn’.
However one viewer, George Wheeler, noticed how the ‘expert’ commentary in an expose of a woman driving whilst eating a McFlurry married up perfectly with some fishy driving practices then showcased in The Block afterwards.
The pair in the car are Darren and Dee from the latest series The Block: Glassshouse, which aired on September 29.
Dr Mumbo supposes it could be worse, he could be using chopsticks to eat his sushi.
The rigid overtaking must’ve been doing 170? Who was on the phone? Don’t get it

Dear Adam,
The vision of the driving is from the C9 program ‘The Block’ and it shows a section where the contestants are observed in their cars. (This helps with the driving)
Dee is on the phone, but that is not the issue. Darren while driving, is adding soy sauce to his Sushi roll and driving with his knee.
What got my tail up was the block footage in question was broadcast directly after the C9 ACA broadcast where they persecuted a young woman for the same idiotic and dangerous driving behaviour.
This video mashup could also be called ‘TCN Hypocrisy’.
ACA sent the video of the girl in the McFlurry in a Hurry to the Victorian Police and then followed the story up with how she had been charged with various driving offences.
So will TCN9 be submitting the footage from the block to the relevant authorities as they did on ACA ?
The Block contestants are given prize money, albeit only $10k in Darren and Dee’s case, to drive like complete lunatics.
Maybe start with watching this ACA story and you will see the genius in my work.
