BMF hires ex-AKQA head of planning Alex Siewert as strategy director
BMF has hired the former head of planning at digital agency AKQA New York as strategy director for the agency’s Sydney office.
Siewert joins after a spell at Vodafone in Ireland, where he was senior brand communications planner.
He has also had stints at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO in London, where he led the Mars business across Europe, and at Naked, where he was strategic comms and creative director. He began his career as a suit at Grey London.
BMF managing partner Chris Kay commented: “We hunted high and low for someone to complement the skills we have in the strongest planning department in the country. Alex’s background shows he will bring a lot to the agency, and we are looking forward to him starting.”
Siewert’s arrival comes a few weeks after that of brand and content manager Danielle Long, but also after a round of redundancies at the Enero-owned ad agency.
