BMF and Sweet Shop capture moments in time with new Lion Five Seeds Cider campaign
Lion cider brand Five Seeds has launched a new campaign for its three new varieties, using the line ‘Plant the Seed’.
The campaign, by BMF and The Sweet Shop, promotes three new cider variants: Crisp Apple Cider, Premium Cut Dry Apple Cider and Night Orchard Apple.
Supported with Australian band Rufus and their single ‘You Were Right’ the ad focuses on moments frozen inside an apartment block where an apple tree has grown through the building and over-taken a house party.
The ad explores moments captured in slow motion at the party, focusing on the good times people are having.
Shot in Kiev, Ukraine, the agency built a 10-feet tall apple tree inside the building over two floors.
Lion’s marketing director Gordon Treanor said the campaign was aimed at showing how consumers could see things differently.
“Through new product innovation and this new brand campaign we’re hoping to open up new possibilities for cider and extend its relevance in to new drinking occasions,” Treanor said.

I’ve always liked Cam.
He smells nice, like old mushrooms.
I do like his ads.

Five Seeds brings a party to an abrupt holt? Looks like a lot of work went into production, pity the ‘idea’ is missing?

Home of the long idea – no longer…

Did it really need to be shot in Kiev?
Nice way to chew up some cash….

@ Madge –
When you look at exchange rates and comparative production budgets, pretty much the only way something like this could be made is in places like Kiev, Bucharest, and to a lesser degree (now that their currencies are stronger) Prague, Budapest and Warsaw.
I’m not party to the specifics of this production, but I’d comfortably wager that this would have been prohibitively expensive to do it locally.

What?

Nice production but what a pointless party. Did Medusa rock up and turn everyone to stone? Who’d want to be at a Five Seeds party with all the zombies?

If the party was moving it would lose all its visual appeal. Given years of anything interesting coming out of Lion and CUB (since Beer Chase?), for me this is stylish and has an edge and will therefore probably connect with millennials and sell cider
