BMW Group puts creative account for BMW and Mini out for pitch

BMW logoBMW Group Australia has put its creative account for both BMW and Mini out for pitch, putting incumbent Ogilvy on alert.

Ogilvy is set to fight it out to retain the account in a closed door pitch against a number of undisclosed agencies.

BMW Australia brand communications and marketing services manager Stuart Jaffray said: “We review our agency relationships periodically and this is standard operating procedure.”

The news of the pitch follows on from Vodafone, another client of Ogilvy, putting its creative account up for pitch at the end of last week. Ogilvy declined to repitch for Vodafone.

The process is intended to be finalised by Q4 this year.

Most recently, Oglivy Melbourne worked on a campaign to launch the third generation of the Mini, the Mini Hatch which ran across TV and was supported with outdoor.

The account was last reviewed in 2009, with Ogilvy retaining it.
