BMW general manager of marketing Toni Andreevski has quit the car manufacturer to take up a similar role with rival Porsche Cars Australia.

His departure comes as BMW’s creative account is out for pitch with incumbent Ogilvy put on alert in June, and less than a month before Marc Werner takes over from Phil Horton as chief executive.

Andreevski joined BMW in June 2006, firstly as head of corporate communications before taking the role of head of product and market planning in 2010. He became general manager of marketing in October last year after a restructure saw the sales and marketing roles split.

Previous general manager of sales and marketing, Tom Noble, will once again oversee marketing while a replacement is found for Andreevski, a process which is expected to take three months.

Andreevski will take up the role of Porsche Cars Australia marketing director on Monday. He replaces Kevin Nicholls who left in May to join Jaguar Land Rover.
