BMW comms boss Piers Scott to leave Australia

The PR chief of BMW is leaving the German carmaker’s Melbourne base after more than five and a half years in the role.

Piers Scott, who joined BMW Australia and New Zealand as head of corporate communications in July 2007 from PR firm Porter Novelli, is relocating to the UK in February to take on a communications role for BMW there.

A replacement has yet to be announced.

Scott currently leads a team of four, handling PR, crisis management, internal comms and government lobbying.

Prior to Porter Novelli in New Zealand, Scott was internal communications officer for the City of Westminster in the UK.

BMW is currently holding a review of its media agencies, which is being run by marketing manager Tom Noble. Aegis Media agency Vizeum is defending the business.
