Brisbane radio ratings: ARN’s 97.3FM wins as Nova closes gap and regains breakfast

Nova106.9 has regained the commercial breakfast top slot and closed the share gap on winning network 97.3FM in the Brisbane radio market.

The return to the top is early vindication for the move to the Ash, Kip & Lutsy show at the beginning of the year after the network parted ways with Camilla Severi. The programme put on 2.6 percentage points.

The Australian Radio Network’s 97.3FM won overall, despite a drop from 14.1% to 13.6% in the Monday to Sunday results, and from 14.4% to 13.5% on Monday to Friday.

Meanwhile Nova106.9 covered good ground jumping from 10.4% to 12.9% in the Monday to Sunday results, and 10.6% to 13.0% in the Monday to Friday results.

Duncan Campbell, ARN’s national content director said: “Brisbane is always going to be a tight market. There was a bit of space with changes in Nova and B105 but its nice to have space up there, but Nova is no direct competitor.”

In commercial FM market B105 dropped 10.7% to 10.4% across the Monday to Sunday share, but still managed third place in front of Triple M, which took 9.8%, up on last survey’s 9.5%.

In the AM market, 4BC has slid from first to third across Monday to Sunday results. The network, previously on 7.4% has landed at 6.3% share this survey, leaving room for 4BH to move into second, up from 6.1% to 6.6% and 4KQ to move from 7.2% to 7.7%.
