BWM produces first TV ad for Government’s sale of Medibank Private
BWM has produced the first TV advert for the Medibank Private Share Offer to mark the opening of the pre-registration process.
The 30-second ad aired last night encouraging the public to “share in the future” of Australia’s largest health insurer. It signals the next step in the Government’s “orderly and methodical execution” of the sale of Medibank Private.
The ad urges people to pre-register ahead of the October 13 deadline with those who do likely to be allocated more shares.
Looks like the Sony Bravia ad of a few years ago may have been an influence:

a few coloured balls aren’t sufficient to correlate with the Bravia ad – but they do beg the question WHY? what is the idea here other than to provide some visual interest while we listen to the VO? strange that there’s an absence of emotion when you have such rich underlying subject matter.

Dreadful. It reminds me of the 1989 ads the Greiner government in NSW put out in 1989 to privatise the GIO. A bit poor when ideas from 25 years ago have to be regurgitated like this.
