BWM retrenches 8 staff following Telstra loss
Following the loss of the Telstra business at the end of May, Photon-owned BWM has retrenched eight of its staff in its Sydney office.
BWM would not disclose the names of those leaving, but said that they came from across the agency – in creative, planning and account management.
“This is a difficult move for us to make but a necessary one with the changing of the Telstra agency roster. Our growth in revenue – both organic and from new business like Selleys and MyPlates in Sydney and Kmart in Melbourne – has enabled us to keep the retrenchments at a minimum, however any retrenchments are unwelcome,” said BWM general manager Simon Hadfield.
Before the departure of Telstra, BWM had 120 staff.

Explains why Belgo isn’t at Cannes this year. Good leadership decision Rob.
Good luck to all those at BWM, and those leaving through no choice of your own.
I hope you all bounce straight back & higher too!

I was one of the people made redundant over two years ago and want to say to those leaving this time around that in the end it will be the best thing ever. You will go on to bigger and better things and end up making more money. I certainly did and could not be happier.
Also that office in Ultimo – lame! You’ll be glad to see the back of it.
