Campaign for Australian Aid runs ‘Interrupt Joe’ ad in Mosman Daily

Campaign for Australian Aid is taking its Interrupt Joe campaign to the next level, placing a full-page ad in today’s edition of his local paper The Mosman Daily in an effort to urge him not to cut foreign aid in the next budget as part of a campaign worked on in collaboration with full-service creative studio Agency.

The Interrupt Joe campaign allows Australians to email treasurer Joe Hockey and CC their local MP in with a few simple clicks to ask him to reconsider cuts to the Australian aid budget.

According to Campaign for Australian Aid, since April 16 more than 10,000 emails have been sent to Hockey through the website interruptjoe.com.

The full page ad in the Mosman Daily follows a lack of comment from the treasurer on the issue with campaign organiser Adam Valvasori saying: “Australian aid plays an instrumental role around the world, opening up opportunities for school, healthcare, and business to people who otherwise would miss out.

“We live in the land of a fair go, and Australian aid is one important way that we showcase our national character to the world.”

If the local paper ad is not successful in drawing comment from Hockey Campaign for Australian Ad will issue two mobile billboards on scooters set to follow the treasurer around.
