Can design agencies rescue the NSW logo disaster?

While the NSW government is of course normally a powerhouse of competency, Dr Mumbo was shocked to read last week that they’d cocked up their logo.  

Apparently to the untrained eye the logo looks more like a lotus rather than a waratah.

Still, Dr Mumbo is delighted to see that design marketplace Design Bay has decided to help out and launched its own competition to create a better logo with a $1,000 first prize.

Of the 16 logos so far submitted, most of them seem to be an improvement.

  2. They only paid $4,600? Well negotiated that man.

    Does it look like a Lotus? Arguably, yes. It could have done with some refinement to emphasise the Waratah aspect.

    However, no-one is going to be confused that they suddenly live in Goa.

  6. Well its better than the Melbourne’s new freaky logo that cost $250,000 – holy s#@t $250,00!
