Capital One speaker joins ADMA Global Forum line-up

Peter Tanner, former Obama for America data scientist/strategist and current senior data manager at Capital One in Toronto, will be speaking at the ADMA Global Forum’s Marketing and Advertising conference on Tuesday July 29.

ADMA is pleased to announce that Peter Tanner, former Obama for America data scientist/strategist and current senior data manager at Capital One in Toronto, is coming to Australia to speak about how he has applied his learnings from Obama for America to the business context with Capital One.

Tanner will speak at the ADMA Global Forum’s Marketing and Advertising conference on Tuesday 29 July at the Sydney Hilton Hotel at 4.45pm.

“In 2012, the Obama for America campaign used advanced analytics to target voters, especially in social media channels. Peter’s presentation will show us how these analytics techniques will be used in future business applications, and how these strategies can be applied to business,” said ADMA CEO Jodie Sangster.

Tanner was an analyst for the 2012 Obama campaign at the Chicago headquarters, with a focus on leveraging digital channels to persuade, encourage turn out and register voters. He has worked as a quant in the financial sector and his sports analytics have featured in The New York Times and on ESPN.

Moderator announced for Creative Fuel ADMA Is also pleased to announce that Diana Palmer, the contemporary art specialist and founder of Palmer Art Projects, will moderate the day-long Creative Fuel conference at the Eveleigh Carriageworks on Monday, 28 July from 10.00am.

“Diana Palmer is known for repurposing existing cultural content in new ways and engaging audiences through new experiences of contemporary art. She is knowledgeable about many aspects of creativity and will be able to ask great questions to challenge and draw forth insights from the diverse personalities presenting at Creative Fuel,” said Ms Sangster.

As a contemporary art specialist, Diana has developed significant Sydney- based and international exhibitions. Working closely with gallery directors, she developed successful applications for art fair exhibitions including Sam Leach ‘The Civilising Process’ At Volta9 Basel, eX de Medici, ‘Tonne of Bricks’ at Melbourne Art Fair 2012 as well as Penny Byrne at Art Basel Hong Kong (2013), Sam Jinks at Singapore Art Fair (2013), Darren Sylvester at VOLTANY (2013) and Laith McGregor at Auckland Art Fair (August 2013).

Diana is also a contemporary arts writer, working with artists and exhibitions, creating content for media and private clients as well as working on the publications in 2013 of Sydney Ball: The Stain Paintings 1972 – 1980 and Alex Seton’s Roughing Out. Most recently she has been asked to contribute to Sydney’s six-week festival Idea Bombing: The Gallery Edition, providing insight into Sydney’s cultural and creative landscape of the future.

A moment with Tina Fox at Creative Fuel Public artist Tina Fox is also added to the Creative Fuel ‘moments’ line up where artists and other creatives are speaking about their work and what inspires them. Tina is a renowned textile artist and designer.

At Creative Fuel, Tina will explain how her creative works sit at the boundary of art, craft and design, infused with the many influences from her diverse career as an artist, interior designer and architect. She will demonstrate how she takes traditional handcrafting skills and reinterprets them in modern and challenging ways.

ADMA Global Forum begins 28 July at the Carriageworks, Eveleigh with Creative Fuel for the creative community. It then moves to the Sydney Hilton Hotel on Tuesday 29-30 July for Marketing and Advertising Forum (29-30 July) for the local marketing/ad industry, Media Connect for the publishing industry (29 July) and ADMA BI and Analytics Lab for data analytics professionals (30 July).

There are over 70 global speakers on tap with the international contingent featuring speakers from the USA, Canada, the UK, Japan, India and Korea.
