Carpet Court and Initiative part ways

Carpet Court has parted ways with Initiative Melbourne due to conflict over the Interpublic Group media agency’s client Bunnings.

The decision is expected to trigger a media review, which will form part of creative review, which is currently ongoing.

The announcement:

March 22, 2011: Carpet Court, one of Australia’s largest retail floor covering specialists and media communications agency Initiative Melbourne have announced they are parting company. The two companies are currently winding down their business relationship which has existed for the past two years.

Both companies commented that the reason for the split is related to Initiative’s relationship with major hardware chain Bunnings’ activities in the floor covering sector in Australia.

Andrew Mudgway, managing director of Initiative Melbourne, said the agency’s relationship with Carpet Court had been successful and he wished the company great success in the future.

Neither company had further comment.
