Celebrity Apprentice debuts with just 566,000 while The Bachelor leaves reality rivals trailing
Celebrity Apprentice pulled its smallest ever audience after returning from two-year break last night as Ten’s The Bachelor grabbed more than a million viewers ahead of its finale tonight.
Nine’s latest reincarnation of the reality show managed just 566,000 metro viewers at 8.40pm, well down on its 2013 debut which drew 866,000 viewers. It was beaten by Dogs That Make You Laugh Out Loud 2, which had 687,000 viewers in the 8.50pm time slot.
The Bachelor was the most watched non-news program of the night with the semi-final at 7.30pm drawing 1.05m viewers for an episode which saw contestant Sarah eliminated, leaving Lana and Snezana as the final contestants ahead of tonight’s finale.
In the same timeslot, Seven’s reality singing program The X Factor slipped below the million mark for the first time this series to 934,000 viewers while Nine’s The Block fell away to 807,000.
On the ABC, in the 8.30pm the second episode of Gruen saw audiences dip from its debut last week with 915,000 people tuning in, compared with 974,000 last week. I watched Celebrity Apprentice and it was cringeworthy. It was appalling television of the lowest common denominator. It was so bad.
I am now addicted and cannot wait for next week’s episode.

^ I agree with this guy.

Mumbrella you seemed to have overlooked that Nine could have shared the same title, and content, for a TV programme on-air at the same time as Seven (8.40 & 8.50). This must be a first!

Previously, I have enjoyed the Celebrity Apprentice as Guilty Pleasure TV.
But last night’s offering was painful. The main reason was the ‘talent’ they had on show this time around. Such an irritating line-up of ‘celebrities’ and too many obviously staged incidents (the book ripping ) made it near impossible to engage with.
Bouris seemed annoyed with the lot of them in the final scenes, and he wasn’t the only one. I turned off and won’t be going there again.

I enjoyed Celebrity Apprentice last night. But with that said, I would pretty much watch Gina Liano do anything. Even Gogglebox.
