The circle of Lions
A Cannes Lion is probably on most creatives’ Christmas list. For those who didn’t score one this year Publicis Groupe boss Maurice Lévy is giving you the chance to steal his.
This year’s Publicis Groupe Christmas message is an interactive video of Lévy in his office passing on his wishes for the New Year, which gives viewers the chance to grab something in his office with a grabbing claw.
Dr Mumbo was a little confused as to why Lévy has so many soft toys in his office, although when he read the small print he realised the company is making a Christmas donation to the Make a Wish foundation this year, which helps sick kids.
Although it does stress the number of objects picked up doesn’t correlate to the size of its donation.
There does seem to be something a little circular about the exercise though. You see the Lion you’re catching is the one awarded to DigitasLBI in 2013 for “The Human YouTube Player” – Lévy’s Christmas message from 2012.
And as Dr Mumbo discovered, those Lions can be tricky to hold on to.
If you’re still confused watch this demo or just go and try and catch yourself a lion.
