Dell digital dynamo Andy Lark to lead marketing at Commonwealth Bank
Commonwealth Bank has appointed digitally savvy Dell marketer Andy Lark as its chief marketing officer, replacing Mark Buckman who moved to Telstra.
Lark was previously VP of global marketing for Dell’s public and large enterprise group. He also brings the bank what is likely to be a strong understanding of online platforms, having headed Dell.com which at the time claimed to be the world’s biggest ecommerce site.
Lark is also a prolific marketing blogger with his own site, The Daily Lark. He is thought to be the first CMO at a major Australian brand who regularly blogs.
Originally a Kiwi, his is also chairman of consulting firm Group Lark and a director of No 8 Ventures, a New Zealand’s venture capital firm.
Commonwealth Bank’s group executive for retail banking services, Ross McEwan said, “I am delighted to have someone of the capability and experience of Andrew joining our team. He is a high calibre executive.”
Lark starts on July 1.
