The newly-formed marketing communciations body, The Communications Council and the Outdoor Media Association are both on the the hunt for chief executives.
The Council was recently formed following the merger of the Advertising Federation of Australia, the Australasian Writers and Art Directors and the Account Planning Group.
Mark Champion, the current executive director of the AFA, will take on the role of acting CEO of the Council when the organisation begins trading on January 1.
The marketing communications body is expected to advertise the position shortly, with a final decision to be made by the Council board by the end of February.
Champion has also been invited to apply for the role. However, he declined to confirm whether or not he would be applying.
The search is being conducted by Neil Ross, of NKR Consulting.
Last month, the Council elected Host chief executive, Anthony Freedman as chairman.
Meanwhile, Steve McCarthy, OMA chairman said it is already in talks with potential candidates to take over from outgoing CEO Helen Willoughby in the new year.
He added that in the meantime, the board is putting in interim arrangements to manage the final stages of the industry’s audience measurement project, MOVE – Measurement of Outdoor Visibility and Exposure.
