Continental urges consumers to pair a sandwich with Cup a Soup in singing ad
Continental is using a dueting sandwich and mug of soup to suggest the two go well together for lunch.
The ad, created by 303Lowe Sydney, sees a Cup a Soup sing to a sandwich about how they go together, backed by a choir of tomatoes.
“The task was to get consumers who regularly pack a sandwich for lunch at work to combine it with a Cup a Soup to make it a more exciting and flavoursome lunch experience,” Unilever said in a statement.
The campaign runs until September.

This is completely beside the point, but urging Australians to add an instant soup to a sandwich is a dire health message indeed. Most sandwiches are salt/sodium bombs anyways, while instant soup is basically a bag of salt with thickener in it. That image of a melted cheese sandwich and the instant soup means just one thing – a ticket straight to the chronic heart disease/stroke ward, peoples!

Reminds me of a quote from Principle Skinner of The Simpsons fame – “I haven’t seen such a natural pair since half sandwich and soup of the day”
Paraphrasing Einstein – creativity is just a matter of hiding your sources, hey guys?
