The Courier-Mail launches Travel lift-out Canvas

News Corp Australia’s Queensland newspaper The Courier-Mail has launched a new travel supplement called Canvas.

The Courier-Mail has today announced the launch of a new premium entertainment, culture and travel lift-out titled CANVAS.

Available every Saturday from tomorrow, CANVAS will be edited by Gillian Cumming and feature Queensland’s most respected arts and entertainment writers, reviewers and columnists, including Phil Brown, Noel Mengel, William McInnes, Leigh Paatsch and Kathleen Noonan.

The 28-page lift-out will be the state’s best guide to the arts scene across Queensland from stage, screen, visual art, music, books and travel to feature reviews, horoscopes, puzzles and TV listings.

The Courier-Mail editor Christopher Dore said: “We are extremely proud of our arts community in Queensland and delighted to be able to celebrate it in such a fantastic weekly product.

“The investment in this product demonstrates our commitment to the Queensland market and to the weekend newspaper.”

Ms Cumming said: “CANVAS will give Queenslanders the best arts and entertainment reads and reviews in the state and across the country, delivered by expert writers with immense experience in their fields.

“Queensland has a vibrant culture scene and with CANVAS we intend on celebrating the best it has to offer every week.”

Launch advertisers include Brisbane Marketing, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Brisbane Cruises and Queensland Art Gallery.

The launch of CANVAS follows the launch of QB Monthly in The Courier-Mail in March and the City in Adelaide earlier this year.

The Courier-Mail on Saturday has a readership of 701,000*.
