CrapAdvisors: Not everyone should be allowed to leave a review
Online reviews are the new black.
But M&C Saatchi Sydney creative director Andy Flemming has put together a series of videos featuring real reviews from TripAdvisor which may serve as a reminder not everyone should be entitled to have their voice heard…
Huh?
In two other CrapAdvisors clips, some of the world’s most picturesque sites aren’t spared, including Niagara Falls, The Statue of Liberty and Machu Picchu.
Proof that you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet.
What is the purpose of these TVC’s?
I have been a Sydneysider for over a decade. When I first saw the opera house I did and I still do (up close) think that it looks like a multi story car-park? It was also a lot smaller than I had imagined. I agree with this review?
Bondi is an awful beach, compared to the beaches up or down the coast (less people). Has the person playing god with this production been to Manasquan Beach in New Jersey? It sh1ts all over Bondi!
The Barrier reef, compared to some remote pacific islands sucks, especially if you go on a dive boat with a million others from Cairns. I couldn’t think of anything worse, (full of backpackers and tourists).
Again, not sure what the agenda is here? Reviews are awesome because they are subjective and therefore cater for all tastes and personalities. One person’s opinion or spin from M&C Saatchi, is exactly that: one persons opinion.
I dislike a berry tasting cab sav from the Hunter, which my wife loves. I love a smooth cab sav from Mudgee that my wife cannot stand. Why should I force my tipple on to her, if she doesn’t like it? I certainly would not create a video belittling her opinion.
Am I not quite understanding these video’s???

@Not quite understanding?
Do you not see any issue with someone complaining that they got sandy and wet at a beach? Some of these reviews were horrendous.

The ones I referenced were fine?

Anyone that needs to read a review to decide if they want to check our the Statue of Liberty, Machu Pichu or the Harbour bridge, really shouldn’t be travelling.
Hotels, resorts, airlines, restaurants, theme parks etc, no problem, review away because I read those before booking, but even then, take the average review, not either the extremely good or bad.
But seriously, landmarks? “The Pyramids of Giza are looking a little worn out, could use some paint or updating. Air-conditioning didn’t work and there were tourists there getting in my way of enjoying it exclusively and by myself. How rude”

Outside of raising awareness that Trip Advisor ratings are suspect, I don’t really get the point of the campaign…
…I really just came here to point out that Manasquan charges $9 a day to access the beach because that concept might make some heads explode.

Wow – I was in a good mood before watching these. How utterly depressing!

Guess any chance of a Tourism Australia contract in future has gone out the window.

Damn you opinionistas… How dare you differ from me!
Apart from the fact that people do actually have their own opinions and the right to share them…im going to guess a number of these are intended to be humorous postings.

I’d just like to clarify that these were made by me, not M&C Saatchi.
Although many at M&C do find them amusing.
They’re not for any client, just me.
Having a giggle.
At the kind of people who would describe the Colosseum as being in ‘a poor state of repair.’
Hope you like them.

@beach is back
Sounds like a bargain. I paid more than that to park at Bondi for the day. Awful place.
