Crawlspace’s US premiere set to scare tonight at Screamfest

Australian genre film Crawlspace will have its US premiere tonight in Los Angeles at genre film festival Screamfest followed by a Q&A session.

Last week it was announced the film’s North American distribution rights were picked up by IFC Midnight with XYZ Films brokering the deal.

Locally, the film will be one of the first for Greenlight Releasing, Arclight’s new distribution arm and expected with late night and festival screenings around the country in 2013.

Arclight’s genre sales arm Darclight is handling sales internationally, outside of North America.

The North American premiere follows an international premiere at Sitges Film Festival.

The claustrophobic thriller set in Australia’s Pine Gap army base sees a team of special forces come under attack by an unknown enemy.

It’s the first time feature film from Justin Dix who comes from an FX background, working on films such as Star Wars, Red Hill and the forthcoming 100 Bloody Acres.

The film was written by Dix, Eddie Baroo and Adam Patrick Foster, produced by Dix and John Finemore and Nicholas Sherry and EP’d by Wolf Creek director Greg Mclean, Craig McMahon and James Hoppe.
